MILLTHORPE School had reason to celebrate on GCSE results day.

Across the board 60 per cent of students achieved passes at grade 4 (equivalent to grade C) or better in English and maths.

The following students achieved 10 or more A or A* grades (or 7, 8 or 9 in the new GCSEs): Shreya Bondili, Sophie Chapman, Minnie Grayson, Hannah Matthews, Gobi Naguleswaran, Josie Osborne, Joshua Pease, Daniel Peña, Miranda Poskitt, Fraser Reed, Anya Thomas.

Head Trevor Burton said: “This year group have coped very well with all the changes made to the exam system in English and maths and they are well placed for their future education post-16.”

Special mention goes to Josie Osborne and Daniel Peña who each achieved twelve A, A* or 7/8/9 grades.
