LIKE Derek Martin (Letters, August, 14), I get a lot of pleasure watching the birds that come to the bird hut and the feeders and boxes on the fence.
We don’t have trouble with cats. We have a dog who doesn’t like cats, including our own.
He is on a lead so can’t reach the birds but he never bothers the little birds that like to peck at the soil.
He is very good at scaring off the magpies, jackdaws and pigeons.
