A TEENAGER has been left devastated after the bike he had spent more than a year saving up for was stolen.

Seb Allan, 13, bought the pit bike after doing grass cutting, car washing, dog walking and saving birthday and Christmas money.

His mum Jane Swallow, who owns Smash Boutique in Malton, said: "Seb bought the bike entirely out of his own money and worked hard and saved for months.

"He had hours and hours of good old-fashioned fun out on his bike, both riding it and tinkering with it on a daily basis."

Jane said the family, who live near Wintringham, had been at a Christening on Sunday and were out from about 10.30am to 3pm.

The bike was in our locked barn and entry was forced through a concealed side door which is not visible," she said.

"In the barn there were also other items of value that were not taken so who ever took it must have seen Seb with his bike and deliberately targeted us."

The bike is a Monster 125cc Pit Bike and has had some one-off modifications done to the engine internals, which defines it as belonging to Seb.

Jane said: "Seb is not one to show his emotions, but this has upset him and he has not been able to sleep and it has unsettled the rest of the family."

After the theft was posted on Facebook, local people have been in contact offering donations to help Seb save for another bike.

Jane said: "It is amazing how kind people have been that we don't even know. We have already had £100 donated towards a new bike for Seb. We have all been very appreciative of the support."

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "We were called at 3.16pm on Sunday, August 20 to reports that a Kawasaki off-road motorcycle had been taken from an address in Wintringham.

"The bike, which is worth approximately £400, is described as being monster green and white with Bridgestone stickers on it.

"If you have seen the bike, or have any information that could assist our investigation, please phone 101 and quote reference number 12170148339."
