A BOY has had to undergo plastic surgery to his face after being bitten by a dog in North Yorkshire.

The 11-year-old was attacked by a Boxer dog outside the fish and chip shop in Albion Road, Robin Hood's Bay at about 6.10pm on Thursday.

North Yorkshire Police said the boy, who is from South Yorkshire, was taken to Scarborough Hospital then transferred to York Hospital, and had "suffered significant facial injuries which required plastic surgery".

Detectives investigating the attack have released these images of two men with the brindle coloured Boxer dog, and urged anyone who recognises them to contact police immediately.
