YORK City assists ace Louis Almond is a clear leader in The Press Player of the Month contest for August.
Almond topped the Twitter man-of-the-match poll in City’s last two games - the 5-0 victory at Bradford Park Avenue and Tuesday night’s 0-0 home draw against Darlington.
That double honour earned him a combined total of four points towards the standings.
As the Press’ star man at Bradford, after setting up all five goals, he also received a further three points.
Sean Newton (two points) and Amari Morgan-Smith (one) were also recognised as our second and third-highest rated performers respectively in West Yorkshire.
Against Darlington, The Press points were shared between our star man Dan Parslow (three), Newton (two) and Michael Rankine (one).
Newton and Parslow, meanwhile, are the early leaders of the Press Player of the Year competition.
