INTERNATIONAL violinist Ray Chen has been rehearsing with the Yorkshire Young Sinfonia.

Ray who has performed with orchestras all over the world was at St Margaret’s School in Escrick with the YYS, a unique youth orchestra for aspiring young amateur musicians.

He has more than two million followers on SoundCloud, and wants to use the technology to expand the classical music audience.

One of just three performances in the UK this year will be with the YYS on Saturday at Hull City Hall.

This year the YYS will also become the world's first youth orchestra to be 100 per cent digital - using iPads instead of sheet music.

The orchestra is an opportunity for young musicians from Yorkshire to perform with world-famous musicians.
