A RAIL company that runs services around York has received five nominations for the prestigious National Rail Awards.
Northern - which runs trains from York to Selby and on the Harrogate line - has got five nominations onto the shortlists for three different categories - including a nod for Harrogate in the Station of the Year category. Another nomination has come after Northern ran the A1 Steam Locomotive Tornado on the Settle to Carlisle route; the first timetabled steam service in England for almost 50 years.
The awards are organised by RAIL magazine, and winners will be announced at a London ceremony in September.
