AN ARSON attack at a farm near York is being investigated by police.

Officers would like to hear from witnesses after a pile of tyres at Grey Leys Farm, Elvington, were set on fire around 4pm on Monday.

Six fire engines attended the scene and quickly brought the blaze under control to protect neighbouring properties, including farm houses and building containing livestock.

Police are appealing for information about how the fire was started and who was involved.
