FIREFIGHTERS have helped police bring a man down to safety after he threatened to jump from a York roof.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said crews from York and Harrogate were called to a property in Irwin Avenue, Heworth, at just before 3am today.
Firefighters from Harrogate used an aerial ladder platform to bring down the man, who had been threatening to jump from the roof.
