I WAS saddened to hear the death of Glen Campbell and it reminded me of lovely tale.
Two musician lads were playing one night in the Snickelways, and they mentioned the time Glen Campbell was in town (appearing at the Barbican).
While doing their day job of street busking, they played Rhinestone Cowboy.
When they finished, they were approached by an American chap saying: “That was great lads, but shall I show you how it’s done?”
It was none other than the great man himself, busking on the streets of York.
What a story, and a lovely, fond memory.
I bet the lads will dine out on that for years to come.
Let the good times roll.
