SLIGHTLY Fat Features, winners of the Flat Cap Award for Best Show at the first Great Yorkshire Fringe in 2015, are celebrating another award at this summer's event in York.

This time festival director Martin Witts has awarded the Slightly Fat cabaret troupe the Flat Cap Award for Best Family Show for The Slightly Flat Show, which is now to transfer to the main house of the Leicester Square Theatre, London.

The award for Best Children's Show went to The Scarecrows' Wedding; Best Music Show, Curtis Stigers and the Ronnie Scott's Big Band at York Barbican; Best Entertainment for Adults, Thinking Drinkers; and Best In Show, the Great Yorkshire Fringe New Comedian of the Year Final 2017. The Best Street Food Award on the festival village green went to The Cattleshed.

Slightly Fat Features will not be alone in securing transfers to London after the July 21 to August 6 festival. Thinking Drinkers and sketch show duo Short & Curley's Young At Start show will play the Museum of Comedy and Pocklington comedian Richard Herring's Oh Frig, I'm 50 show and West End Magic will both be performed in the Leicester Square Theatre main house.

West End Magic workshops will take place at the Museum of Comedy and Lounge at the Leicester Square Theatre; Scamp Theatre, creators of The Scarecrows' Wedding show, will stage Stick Man in the capital too.
