IF there's a theme which unites our selection of photographs from members of The Press Camera Club on the centre pages today, it has to be architecture. But beyond that, there's a wonderful variety to the pictures. Jonathan Allison manages to give the pedestrian arch in Bootham Bar a distinctly sinister look in his nighttime photograph, while there's a cheerful earthiness about the two Minster grotesques captured in close-up by Lynne Kinder.

Wei Pang has used a photoshopping app to give his wide angle view of Whitby the sheen of an oil painting by a 20th century Spanish master. And there's a lovely geometrical intricacy to the spars and bars of York's market stalls at night, in Duncan Walker's photo.

If you think you can take photos like this, and you'd like to see your work published in The Press and on our website, why not join the club? Administered through Facebook, it aims to bring together talented amateur photographers from across York and North and East Yorkshire to share their work, swap tips and take part in themed monthly prize competitions.

To join the free club, search for “The Press Camera Club” on Facebook - we’d love to see what our region looks like through your lens. Every day we are featuring pictures from club members on our letters pages. We also have a page of photographs every Monday in print, and run occasional themed two-page spreads of photographs on the centre pages, like this one.

Happy snapping!
