FREE football coaching sessions for children have kicked off in Acomb.
York City FC is running sessions on the former Manor School playing fields, everyday Friday through the summer holidays. Sessions for six to 10 years olds run from 10am and 12pm, and for 11 to 14 year old between 1pm and 3pm.
Acomb ward councillor Stuart Barnes said: “The sessions are available to children aged 6 to 14 living in Acomb ward and form part of our commitment to supporting free summer activities for children and young people at this important time.
“Not only is this an important way for those kids involved to stay active and improve their health, it is also a free activity.”
Cllr Barnes is campaigning for the fields to be opened up for public use, and eventually handed over the community as Acomb Park. To book the free football sessions, ring 01904 559508, or visit www.officialsoccerschools.co.uk
