THE Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu is joining in part of a Holiday to Holy Day mission week in the Southern Ryedale Deanery this week.

On Friday, Dr Sentamu will join the mission at Sand Hutton Village Hall, from 1.30pm, to experience Messy Church. At 6.30pm there will be a musical evening in the Chapel at Castle Howard, where the the Archbishop will give a talk and a Q&A session.

Saturday starts with a men’s breakfast at 8.30am at Church House, St Peter’s Norton, before the Archbishop heads to Malton Market Place from 10.30am.

St Michael’s Church, Malton, will be open throughout the morning and at 11am there will be a drum workshop and at 11.30am a short service at which the Archbishop will preach.

At 3pm, Terrington Hall Prep School is hosting Sweaty Churc’ – the energetic way to learn more about the Christian faith.

The Archbishop will be there to give a talk.

On Saturday evening, the Archbishop will visit The Bay Horse in Burythorpe and The Three Tuns in West Lutton.

Sunday morning begins at St Margaret’s Church in Huttons Ambo at 10am with Café Church.

At 3pm on Sunday, Coneysthorpe village will host The Journey.

There will be activities on the village green and in the chapel.
