STAFF at a York garden centre raised £1,241 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA).

Every year Dean’s Garden Centre at Stockton on the Forest nominates a charity of the year and this year it was the air ambulance. The charity holds a Yellow Yorkshire Day campaign and staff at Deans held various activities including dressing up in yellow ties, t shirts or yellow socks. They baked cakes for a stall with a yellow theme, including lemon drizzle cake, lemon cupcakes, yellow helicopter biscuits and much more. A raffle was also held with the top two prizes being a yellow themed drink or food hamper.

The YAA is an independent charity providing a life saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across the whole of Yorkshire. The service is operational seven days a week, 365 days a year. The Charity currently attend over 1,000 missions a year, an average of 3 incidents every single day. Last year they treated 1067 patients at the scene and carried 599 of those to hospital for emergency treatment. To keep both of Yorkshire's Air Ambulances maintained and in the air, the YAA needs to raise £12,000 every single day, which is the equivalent of over 4 million a year.
