TEAMS will be showing off their skills in a charity football tournament in York on Friday.

Twelve teams will be taking part in the Freya Din tournament today at PlayFootball York, Clifton Moor, in memory of a little girl who died and whose family were supported by York Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (SANDS).

This year, it will also be held in tribute to Alexis Limbert-Simpson, a baby who died at just 16 days old.

Alexis’ family, from York, were also supported by SANDS after her death in December 2015.

All money raised at the event will be donated to the York SANDS bereavement suite at York Hospital.

York SANDS' have a team of their own - Alexis Angels which plays at PlayFootball York on a Monday evening - and it will be competing in this afternoon's tournament

The competition costs £5 per player per team and the first kick off is at 5pm. If you have any questions or want to be involved phone Tasha on 07835 506386 or Sabine on 07592 414576.
