YORK'S Lord Mayor and Sheriff, along with their consorts, helped kick off the festivities at Acomb's ADAM Festival.
The community festival took place on Saturday, July 15, with the proceedings at Acomb Explore library officially opened by the Lord Mayor Cllr Barbara Boyce, the Lady Mayoress Valerie Clark, Sheriff of York Gillian Brian and the Sheriff's Lady Ann Bush.
Throughout the day the library hosted live music, an all day Lego club, storytelling by the Socially Awkward Theatre Company, craft workshops, and a poetry workshop with poet Henry Raby. St Stephen's Church also joined the festivities by hosting a flower festival with Acomb Flower Guild.
Organisers hailed the fantastic atmosphere at the community event, and Acomb councillor Keith Myers has thanked everyone who took part for making such a special day for residents.
