CHARITIES in York could get their hands on a share of £100,000 being offered by Yorkshire Building Society.
The society's Charitable Foundation supports charities which help to alleviate poverty, improve health and save lives - and it can give from £250 to £2,000 to support a specific purpose.
York branch manager Dean Alsop said: “We know it can be hard for charities to find the funding they need – especially the smaller, local ones which rely on donations and local volunteers. So we’re inviting our members to recommend those charities which need a helping hand.”
Building society members in York can recommend charities for a donation by visiting the branch on Feasegate. Members can also recommend a charity online at www.ybs.co.uk/charitablefoundation.
