NICK BLITZ has a plan for a new dual carriageway from the A64 in the Askham Bryan area, round York to the north of Poppleton, Skelton and Haxby and south of Strensall to rejoin the A64 at Hazel Bush (Letters, July 18).
Ron Healey, with his green CPRE hat on, is critical of the proposal to dual the existing A1237 and wants the investment to go into electric bikes instead.
Keith Chapman wants to see trams all the way to Scarborough which stop at places en route.
David Barber plans more rail investment and dualling the A64 between Leeds and Scarborough.
Finally, Geoff Robb wants an immediate start on dualling the A1237 and no feasibility study.
You can’t all be right chaps.
Are any of you right?
None of you follows the methodology of responsible consultants.
First, identify the problems, then list the requirements and, finally, and only finally, design the solutions.
So thanks for the solutions chaps.
Would you now please tell us what problems you are trying to solve and hence what the requirements are?
We will all then be able to judge whether any of your solutions should be considered further.
