AN ORGANISATION which helps to promote and support the Reserve Forces and Cadets across the region has appointed a new head of estates, from York.

The Reserve Forces’ and Cadet’s Association for Yorkshire and The Humber (RFCA), which has its headquarters in York, has announced that Ed Bland has taken on the role. Ed, who previously worked for the Castle Howard Estate as its Head of Building Service, is now charged with the maintenance and development of the Association’s property portfolio, consisting of 926 assets on 146 sites.

He has also spent a number of years in the Military as part of 2nd Battalion the Royal Anglian Regiment, after which he began to look at property as a potential career.

“I’d always wanted to work in property,” Ed said. “During my time in the Armed Forces I underwent some skills testing and my aspirations and my skills seemed to match up so I decided to go for it.”
