POLICE were called out to the A64 near York after a crash involving two vehicles resulted in an argument between two men.

North Yorkshire Police said officers were called at 11.05am today to an incident at the junction of the A64 and A1079 Hull Road at Grimston Bar.

She said there were reports that a two vehicle minor road traffic collision (RTC) had resulted in an altercation between two men.

"Police arrived at the scene and dealt with the situation," she said. "No injuries were reported. No arrests were made."

One source said a large number of police descended on a layby during the incident.
