A DOCTOR has spoken on radio about people who may not take up their prescriptions, which could potentially keep them out of hospital, because of the cost to them.

I am at present paying up to £19.60 a month for a sinus rinse which I believe has helped to keep me out of hospital since last November, when I was admitted for a third time with orbital cellulitis, an eye infection.

A total of 30 days must have cost the NHS thousands.

Why cannot this sinus rinse be on free prescription as are my other repeat prescriptions, including the spray for my sinus and antibiotics when needed?

I would mention how pleased I am that my efforts through Julian Sturdy MP to extend repeat prescriptions from one month to two months has been generally acceptable and saved the NHS system.
