A NEW president has taken over the reigns at Easingwold and District Lions Club.
Kevin Hunter took on the role from Di Watkins, the club's first lady president, at the club's Change Over Dinner at the George Hotel in Easingwold.
Di has stood as president for two years.
When she started in the role, she wished to increase the membership of the club and to raise awareness locally of the work and assistance the Lions do locally, nationally and internationally.
Kevin thanked Di for all her hard work and said that he was looking forward to building on the progress made so far and would like to see membership and awareness continue to grow.
During the Change Over Dinner, Di presented a District Governors Appreciation Certificate to Kay Riley, who received it on behalf of herself and her partner Michael. They are the patrons of The George Hotel Easingwold, and were given the certificate for their generosity, kindness and support of the Easingwold Lions Club over many years.
