ST LEONARD’S Hospice is holding its annual Paws for a Cause sponsored dog walk this September, and are looking for dogs of all shapes and sizes to drag their owners along.
The event will take place at the University of York Heslington East campus on Sunday, September 10, with a choice of a gentle one mile walk for puppies, or dogs with young handlers, or a more challenging four mile route.
Fun dog classes will include cutest canine, scruffiest mutt, waggiest tail, best veteran (7 years +) and favourite family (2 dogs min, 14 legs max).
Pre-booking is essential, and costs £7 per dog with all proceeds going to the hospice. The walk starts from 10am with the dog classes starting around noon.
Event organiser, Katie Jackson, said “This is a great way to support the hospice and have a fun day out with your four-legged friend."
There will be stalls, games, tombola and refreshments. To take part book online at www.stleonardshospice.org.uk or just turn up on the day.
