YOUR correspondent Christian Vassie (Letters, July 11) has really excelled himself this time.
His ramble about accounts and costs to the British taxpayer totally ignores the huge cost of a non-elected bureaucracy already fleecing the taxpayer, and using our contributions to wield the big stick with the bully boy tactics of the Juncker team.
But the most interesting comment is about taking back control and the logical conclusion that will oblige us to leave the UN, NATO and various sporting events.
Does this mean my Tesco and Morrisons loyalty cards are in danger? What a lot of rubbish.
The British Parliament is a democratically elected body, they exercise sovereign control over budgets and make laws under their sovereign power.
All this is upheld by an independent judiciary.
Now is the time to take back control, and to stop acting like Corporal Frazier and shouting “we’re doomed” at every twist and turn in our attempts to get free.
