CYCLISTS have been urged to have their property marked by North Yorkshire Police at an event in York.
Officers will be at the cafe at Naburn Cycle Track this weekend with dot peen marking equipment.
The equipment is used to mark bikes, electronic devices, phones, computers and sporting kit with unique code numbers, which are then logged on a national database.
If the marked goods are stolen and later located, the numbers can be checked against the database, and the items can be returned to the rightful owner.
To have your equipment marked by police, go to the cafe on Sunday, July 16, between noon and 2.30pm.
