YORK and Dunnington ensured it was business as usual at the top of the Fulford Ladies Invitation League’s first division following wins over Castlegarth and Pocklington respectively.

Results at the foot of the table were more significant, however, with Ellie Page and Laura Rhodes leading Bishopthorpe to victory against fellow strugglers Fulford.

Consistent scores from all three couples, meanwhile, saw Rufforth defeat Starbeck in their mid-table clash.

Pocklington stay top of division three despite dropping points in their draw with Rowntree Park.

Anne Milne and Kate Pirie netted 28 games as division four leaders Boston Spa cruised to victory over New Earswick.

Tollerton continue to chase, after Pippa Bailey and Teena Gallon racked up 24 games in their 62-46 defeat of bottom club Poppleton II.

Elsewhere, Heworth overcome Appleton by the same score.

Wigginton II’s winning run continued in division five.

Their 57-51 victory at Dunnington III leaves them top and their opponents in trouble at the wrong end of the table.

Steph Jackson and Cynthia Jackson amassed 26 games as third-placed Riccall beat Wilberfoss.

Fulford III stay in second place, although they went down 60-48 to David Lloyd III.

Claire Fuller and Lynda Withers were unbeaten for division six leaders Copmanthorpe II, as they battered lowly Sheriff Hutton.

The weekend’s top scorers were Knaresborough II’s Linda Parker and Mary Riley, who only dropped one game in a crushing defeat of Dunnington IV.

York III have a five-point cushion at the top of division seven following their 61-47 win against Stamford Bridge.
