CREATIVE youngsters showcased their work during an art exhibition at their school.

Copmanthorpe Primary recently held an arts week in school where each year focused on a different country around the world and produced artwork, using different mediums to explore a style of art, or an artist.

This work went on display at the school's second annual art exhibition. The event was attended by parents, carers, grandparents and members of the community.

The school also displayed artwork from previous pupils and children at Quackers Nursery, which is in the grounds of Copmanthorpe Primary.

Pupils added QR codes to each display so visitors could find out more information with their QR readers.

Head teacher Jenny Rogers said: "A huge thank you, and well done, to all the children and staff involved; it took a lot of hard work to put on such a great event. The feedback from visitors on the evening was amazing, even going so far as to say we topped last year."

One parent commented: "What a wonderful exhibition. I was absolutely stunned by the wide variety of arts and the excellent finished products."

Another parent added: "It's great to see the children given the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop skills in art, and see their work appreciated and valued by everyone."
