A FORMER University of York student who appeared on ITV’s Take Me Out show was found hanging at his home in York, an inquest heard.
The inquest into the death of Charlie Watkins, 22, was opened yesterday at a hearing in Selby by assistant York Coroner John Broadbridge.
He said he was found hanging in his room at a property in Seventh Avenue, Tang Hall, by housemates on March 13. Police attended and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances.
Mr Broadbridge said the provisional cause of death was hanging and adjourned the inquest to a full hearing at a later date.
The Press reported in April how Take Me Out presenter Paddy McGuinness had paid tribute to Charlie, who graduated from the university last summer.
He tweeted that an episode of the dating show was in his memory, saying: “We get to see a smashing lad enjoying himself on his date.” University staff said they were deeply saddened by his death.
