RESIDENTS at a York care home were joined by family and friends for a fun-packed fair, which raised more than £5,000.
Connaught Court, in St Oswald’s Road, Fulford, held its annual summer fair, organised by the Home’s Association of Friends.
Bunting was put up in the home’s gardens to greet visitors, friends and families.
The event featured a range of stalls selling food, jewellery, jams, homemade cakes and drinks.
There was also a bouncy castle for children to enjoy, as well as a tombola, a human fruit machine and a classic car show.
The funds raised will go towards the Home’s Amenity Fund, to support activities for residents. Activities co-ordinator Fran Tagg said: “It was a lovely sociable day for everyone. Residents enjoyed the warm weather, listening to the brass band and watching chickens, lambs and piglets that visited the home.”
