TWO drivers have been taken to hospital after a serious crash near York this morning.
The collision, involving four cars - a Volkswagen, Peugeot, Ford Mondeo and a Honda CRV - happened on the A1079 at Kexby. The road was closed but reopened shortly after 9am.
All three emergency services were called to the crash at about 6.55am.
The male driver of the Peugeot, who is from Leeds, and the female driver of the Volkswagen, from Humberside, were taken to hospital.
Sergeant Paul Cording, of North Yorkshire Police, said: "Fortunately it looks like very minor injuries to the VW driver and a leg/hip injury to driver of Peugeot which is not as serious as first thought.
"Thank you to motorists who were caught up in the tailbacks for their patience whilst emergency services were at the scene."
