SUPERMAN will be dropping into Monks Cross shopping centre on Saturday as it stages a children-oriented charity day.

The shopping centre is joining in One Great Day to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

All money raised will be split between the London hospital and the local charity Snappy, which works with children who have learning or physical disabilities.

Children are urged to come in fancy dress to compete in a costume competition. They will also meet superhero and princess characters including Superman and Elsa from Frozen, ride on fairground rides or go karting at York Motorsport village and have their faces painted.

One Great Day is a series of events across the country this month raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The fun at Monks Cross starts at 11am and lasts until 3pm.
