I CANNOT get my head around the fact that last surviving Dambuster George “Johnny” Johnson gets an MBE for risking his life in the famous Dambuster raids of the Second World War and so-called comedian Billy Connolly gets a Knighthood.

I know I am getting on a bit and am possibly missing something here, but when a comedian gets a higher honour than a war hero it just doesn’t sound right to me.

Could someone please explain the honours system to me, as obviously I must have my priorities wrong.
