YOUNG people in East and North Yorkshire are being urged to help save lives by signing up as blood donors.
NHS Blood and Transplant revealed today at the start of National Blood Week that half of all registered blood donors are aged 45 and over.
The service, which provides blood for hospital procedures, wants more young people to give blood to ensure the future for operations and other surgical treatments.
