IN answer to the lady who wrote a few weeks ago about the new junction of Flaxton Lane End and the A64, I totally agree.

I travel this road most days and turn left on the A64 towards Scarborough.

Now I think it is much more dangerous trying to turn left, especially if there is a vehicle trying to turn right on to the A64 towards York.

It means you cannot see oncoming traffic from the right.

The filter lane enabled cars to filter into the traffic.

I have never seen a bus stop there or anybody walking towards Flaxton village, and who would want to walk to the village on the pathless road with lots of holes in it.

When you turn right from the A64 into Flaxton Lane End, the paths on either side of the road lead to nowhere.

The left side stops into a tree and the right side just spare land, so the path doesn’t go anywhere (not even as far as the golf club).

If the junction stays as it is, it would benefit from traffic lights and also slowing the traffic down in either direction on the A64.
