THOUSANDS of people are expected to take part in the annual York Pride parade today - undeterred by a poor weather forecast.
The parade is due to leave York Minster at 11.45am and wind through the city centre and up to Knavesmire, for an afternoon of entertainment, food and fun.
The Met Office said yesterday that rain was expected to arrive in York during the morning, turning persistent and locally heavy by late morning and early afternoon before gradually dying out later.
Meanwhile,Nestlé staff are the latest group of city employees to back Pride and join the parade.
