A NEW hub for people with sight and hearing loss has been officially opened by the Archbishop of York.

The Wilberforce Trust welcomed Dr John Sentamu to its headquarters in Huntington, which is being run under the Yorsensory service.

The Archbishop was treated to a tour of the building which included a visit to the hub, dropping in on the sensory session for people with profound disabilities and meeting participants at the Summer Baking Class, before officially opening the hub.

The Archbishop said: “It has been wonderful to meet staff and volunteers and to see the work and dedication that has gone into the creation of the Service Hub.

“This will provide a great place for people to come and find information and support.”

Residents with sight and hearing loss can visit the hub to access advice and information.
