SUN worshippers should make the most of Saturday morning and early afternoon - because the heatwave looks set to slip away through the rest of the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, with a chance of thundery showers.
The Met Office is forecasting the warm and sunny weather will continue in York and North Yorkshire for the rest of today, tomorrow and Friday, with temperatures reaching 24C or 75F tomorrow and again on Saturday with southerly breezes.
But a cold front is set to cross the region later on Saturday, bringing the chance of heavy, thundery showers later on Saturday and into Sunday.
The weather will also be cloudier and temperatures are also set to fall in York to 19C on Sunday and only 17C on Monday, as winds shift to north-westerly.
