YORK Shakespeare Project is seeking a director for this autumn's production of The Winter’s Tale.

Dedicated to performing all of Shakespeare’s plays by the end of 2020, roughly in chronological order, YSP has staged 31 so far, the latest being American director Ben Prusiner’s production of Henry VIII in a short run at King's Manor in March.

For The Winter’s Tale, the YSP committee has approved a director’s fee of £1,000. The successful applicant is expected to rehearse on two evenings a week and one weekend afternoon for at least eight weeks, leading up to the performances in late October/early November.

Applications should include a C.V and, on one side of A4, the applicant's ideas for staging The Winter’s Tale. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview in York. Those interested in applying should email info@yorkshakespeareproject.org for an information pack with more details about this opportunity. Any queries also may be directed to this address.

The closing date for applications will be midnight on May 30. More information on YSP can be found at yorkshakespeareproject.org
