A WOMAN'S handbag has been snatched from her as she was walking along a cycle path to work in York.
North Yorkshire Police said the woman was walking along the path from Crichton Avenue towards Haxby Road at about 5pm last Friday when the theft happened.
"Around two thirds of the way to Haxby Road, two men approached her on cycles," said a spokesman.
"One of them pulled the handbag from the victim, and they both made off in an unknown direction."
He said the suspects were described as white, aged under 20, and wearing dark-coloured hooded tops, and police were appealing for witnesses and information.
"Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or knows anything about it, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police," he said.
