RAPPER and York City fan Chuitar has created another song and video to mark York City’s latest trip to Wembley tomorrow.

York City’s Wembley Paradise features footage of Chuitar, alias Kit Simon, rapping outside Wembley stadium while wearing a variety of City shirts.

The song is a rework of Gangsta’s Paradise by American rapper Coolio, from 1995.

It was recorded before York City were relegated to the regional league but includes lines which will resonate with fans, such as: “Tell me why can’t we, YCFC, do as well in the league as in the trophy?”

But there’s also hope - perhaps just a little optimistic - of a good day tomorrow, when York take on Macclesfield Town in the Buildbase FA Trophy Final.

Chuitar raps: “We got Gary Mills back, so you know he’s going to be on his knees on the turf, arms aloft, won at Wembley twice...

“Been having a roughish time but we’re back to Wembley Paradise. Fifth time in just eight years been at our Wembley paradise.

“Just Macclesfield to beat from another Wembley Paradise.”

The 40-year-old, who lives in the south east but whose father lives in York, has been a City fan since 1987 and has written raps for the club’s four previous appearances at Wembley of recent years.

These started in 2009 when it was the club’s official FA Trophy Cup Final song.

Chuitar said his latest song had been viewed more than 5,000 times and had had a good reaction from fans, although the club’s relegation had now cast a shadow over both it and the trip to Wembley for supporters.

He said it had been a ‘terrible’ season for York City but he hoped a victory tomorrow would be the start of a revival which could see the club promoted at the first attempt.
