A RYEDALE charity is running a volunteer training course for its project supporting adults struggling with their mental health.
Scarborough Whitby and Ryedale Mind (SWR Mind) helps up to 600 local people every year with a range of mental health problems who are isolated and often have nowhere else to turn.
The charity is looking for “reliable, supportive and understanding” volunteers to support people in the community through its Side by Side project in the Ryedale area.
Sessions will run in the Pickering area on Wednesdays May 31, June 7, June 14 and June 21, from 10am to 1pm.
Natalie Miles, volunteer co-ordinator for SWR Mind said: “We’re looking for people who are able to spare a couple of hours a week, have an ability to be empathetic and a willingness to engage with our new volunteer induction training.”Volunteers will have expenses paid and will be given references for employment or study. For more information and to request an application pack, phone volunteer co-ordinator Natalie Miles on 01723 356562 or email email@example.com
