A MAN has been air-lifted to hospital after falling down steps at York station.
A helicopter landed in the grounds of The Principal York hotel close to the station and a road ambulance and a police vehicle also arrived at the site.
A spokesman for Yorkshire Air Ambulance said: "A male has been injured following a fall and is due to be transferred to Leeds General Infirmary."
A spokesperson for Principal York said the incident related to the station.
British Transport Police has said a man fell down some steps at the station and suffered head injuries and has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.
He is believed to have fallen down the main flight of stairs near platform three.
He has been air-lifted to hospital.
