THE artist behind Bridlington’s celebrated The Gansey Girl sculpture will be giving a talk about his work at Bridlington Central Library next week.
Steve Carvill has joined the line-up of a talk and workshop on the history of ganseys – traditional fishermen’s jumpers – on Tuesday, May 23 at 2pm. He will talk about the work, which was unveiled on Bridlington Harbour in 2015. Fred and Carol Walkington will also be there, speaking about the history of the hard-wearing knitted garments. Event admission is free.
