A MAN has been taken to hospital after falling up to 20 feet from a wall in York city centre.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said the man, who is in his 20s, was taken by road ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary with 'unknown injuries.'
A spokeswoman said paramedics accompanied by police were called at about 10.55pm last night to North Street, where the man had fallen about 15 feet from a building.
North Yorkshire Police said officers were called at 10.50pm to North Street, where a man was sitting on a wall in an 'upset state,' after the alarm had been raised by doormen at a nearby pub.
A spokeswoman said that the man had just fallen about 20 feet from the wall by the time police arrived at 10.55pm.
She said he banged his head in the fall but the extent of his injuries were not known.
The incident is understood to have happened in the car park area behind Mill House, the Whippet Inn, Travelodge and Jalou bar, formerly The Parish.
