A NEW exhibition is to showcase the talents of students on a York costume-making course.
The Northern College of Costume students have created ‘sumptuous’ theatrical costumes, taking inspiration from the ‘Wolf Hall ‘ costume exhibition at Barley Hall, which houses six costumes from the BBC series based on life at the Tudor court, said Pauline Chambers of the college.
“The students have created tightly laced, heavily draped and elaborately embellished Tudor gowns for each wife of Henry VIII, whilst the male models have been busy honing their quiffs to complement their Teddy Boy attire,” she said.
The free exhibition runs from 2pm to 7pm on Friday and 11am to 4pm on Saturday at the college at 26 Market Street.
