KNITTERS took up residence in York Minster as they prepared to yarn storm Dean’s Park.
Members of York KnitWits showed how to create rabbits, butterflies, clouds and rain drops out of wool in the Chapter House on Saturday morning.
The craft community for knitters, crochet workers and cross-stitchers was holding a two-hour drop-in workshop as part of the summer yarn storm planned for Dean’s Park, which is immediately adjacent to Chapter House.
Mibs Bayliss, from the York KnitWits, said: “We’re excited to be working with York Minster for the yarn storm in Dean’s Park this summer and want to get as many crafting enthusiasts involved as possible.”
The yarn storm next month is expected to include knitted, crocheted and woollen crafted animals and plants, fairies, bugs and woodland animals as well as creations from the workshop.
