FOLLOWING yet another relegation of York City Football Club, your editorial claims what is needed above all is stability and unity (The Press, May 1).
What is needed most is a reality check and the immediate cancellation of that ludicrous and unaffordable taxpayer-subsidised Community Stadium project.
There is ample money available from the planning contributions already banked to buy the Bootham Crescent ground outright and to refurbish it to a befitting standard.
If the traditional home ground is rebuilt the club itself might rise from the ashes.
