THE soundbites have already started in this election.
We are going to hear the mantras of “strong leadership” and “coalition of chaos” ad nauseam over the coming weeks.
I would just call on people to forget about personalities and empty rhetoric, and focus on the policies.
Since the Tories came into power in 2010 we have faced funding crisis in the NHS, schools, prisons, social care and other public services.
More people than ever are using food banks as the Government make it harder to claim benefits you are entitled to.
Not only this, but we have a Prime Minister building a relationship with President Donald Trump, whose foreign policy is unstable and dangerous and could drag us into wars with North Korea, Iran and who knows where else.
So, please, in the June election think carefully about the consequences of your vote on the next five years.
Andrew Collingwood, Langwith Lane, York
