WOUNDED, injured and sick veterans will be taking on this year’s Tadcaster Triathlon on Monday for Help for Heroes and the Endeavour Fund.

Three of the competitors, Ibrar Ali, Dan Bingley and David Wiseman, served with the local Yorkshire Regiment and hope to be cheered on by the crowds.

In teams of three, each competitor will each take on a single leg of swimming, cycling and running.

Competitors have come from across the UK and have a wide range of physical and psychological injuries.

TadTri is a short distance event suitable for beginners with a 400m swim, a 14km cycle and a 7km run.

The swim is conducted in Tadcaster Community Pool with the cycle on local roads and the run along cross country and riverside paths around the market town.

Any wounded, injured and sick service personnel who expressed an interest in being selected for the UK team at the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 were eligible to apply for TadTri.
